The Tropi-Cal is no exception. Loaded with features, it can be a full-time RVer's dream rig, a great weekender for a couple or small family, or the summer vacation rig.
Constructed of steel-framed aluminum sidewalls with a fiberglass exterior on a Freightliner XC chassis, this coach is heavy-duty and built to travel. Its three slides open to provide lots of living space. The Caterpillar C7 7.2L diesel engine has been upgraded with an ECU chip that gives you 400HP, lots of power, and torque to get safely down the road.
National RV engineered its own chassis system, the Duraframe System, to carry the load of the slides on the chassis rather than the sidewalls of the coach. This construction gives the Tropi-Cal a tall stance and provides for cavernous pass-through storage spaces.
All accessories like the generator and propane tank are affixed to this subfloor chassis system, giving them a more rigid fixture and durability than most coaches. It is made stable at the campsite by a hydraulic auto-leveling jack system.
This 2005 Tropi-Cal 398LX is the upgraded LX luxury package, which includes color and finish options not available to the non-LX models. In addition, this coach was ordered with the Diamond Package with a full paint exterior, polished aluminum wheels, black accent pieces like the ladder and awning hardware, and polished chrome mirrors.
