With a focus on longer-term adventures for two, the Grand Tour is built on the EXT platform and includes a larger galley with additional counter and multi-functional storage space, a flexible workspace desk, an over-sized fridge, freezer, and optional dual screen doors.

A custom-built Mercedes-Benz 3500 chassis provides maximum strength and durability while delivering the handling of a much smaller vehicle. Reinforced leaf springs, rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes, premium all-season tires, and Alcoa® DuraBright® aluminum wheels are all standard. Airstream continues to innovate and lead with incredible onboard accommodations and systems that are based on direct research and feedback from Interstate owners. Only best-in-class materials and components are used, from the Atwood® XT combination gas/electric water heater with aluminum tank to the seven-layer composite flooring system that is 1.5” thick and provides superior strength, durability and isolation from noise.

This includes the innovative Mercedes-Benz Adaptive ESP® system, an active safety system which greatly reduces the risk of skidding, rolling, and losing traction. Other standard safety features protect you from unintentional lane drifting, blind spot hazards, parking mishaps, and even rear-end collisions. The main galley and living areas also include a first-aid kit, LP gas, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and a fire extinguisher.
