2015 Newmar Bay Star Sport
The Bay Star Sport is a couple’s dream camper! Its versatility allowed us to enjoy many adventures; we camped with our grandsons in Grand Teton National Park, toured the Pacific Northwest with our Jeep in tow, traveled to the Carolinas trailering our Slingshot in the Smokies, boondocked in national forests and added many states to our list of 50. We hate to give it up but our new adventure is to finish the American Great Loop. We need the garage space currently used for the Bay Star to house a Loop capable boat.
With a class A configuration the Bay Star is like driving your recliner down the highway. Unforgettable mountains, oceans, historic places, and even our great nation’s heartland fields all come into panoramic view as you travel. At a length of 28 feet, you are able to slip into spots that larger RV’s cannot. During thunderstorms, pulling in and pressing the self leveling button is priceless and ensures a better night’s sleep. We have always been able to find and fit into an under 30 foot” camping spot. When towing a vehicle or trailer the unit is easily maneuvered in parking lots and campgrounds. With larger holding tanks and a generator, longer stays in beautiful more isolated places are possible.
We have been awakened by the sounds of rushing water in creeks and rivers. Morning breakfast of bacon and eggs on the propane stove in the forest with only birds and wildlife sounds was always enjoyed. If you must have coffee and toast, flip the switch in the cockpit and a short run of the generator easily powers the kitchen appliances off the grid. Despite its short length, two slide outs make the Bay Star Sport spacious inside. We made memories playing cards and games in the dinette with our grandsons. The jackknife sofa slept our two ten-year old grandsons well while we had the private bedroom with the walk-around queen bed. The crate for our 40 pound poodle fit nicely in the main room. He is hypoallergenic and does not shed so even though he traveled with us from coast to coast, the RV has little evidence of being a pet friendly home.
This motorhome allows for use of the restroom, kitchen, and bedroom while driving down the road. We have often taken turns driving while the other naps or prepares lunch for a quick stop at a rest area. The ability to use the Bay Star with the slideouts in has enabled us to spend nights at travel centers without worry.
So, with many fond memories we are ready to pass our rig on to you. May it bless your family too.
