$80,000 $65,000 USD
Class A - Gas / Redding, CA

Provenance

It was first purchased in 2016 by a grandfather, who traded size down from a diesel pusher, then became disheartened by sideswiping the left side of this vehicle. He decided his RV piloting days were over, after its one round-trip from the Bay Area to Los Angeles.

Finding the vehicle on craigslist in 2019 we planned upgrades for a 2020 summer contiguous United States tour, with teenagers just able to still stand parents. Then, the odometer showed only 3200 miles from Delivery and it’s only trip.

In preparation, we added a solar system with two 325 W panels, an inverter and six additional batteries for storage. We planned sunny day cooking and conditioned air with 120 V AC power off grid and on the road . The propane cooktop is retained, covered by a removable butcher block counter section.

The reclining chair was replaced by a chair/cot which freed space and gave us an actually comfortable kid sleeping area. The original chair, reassembled, is available for reinstallation if it fits your mission better than another sleeping spot.

COVID-19 scrapped ambitious 2020 plans, though we did a shakedown trips and cruise through a fast loop from Redding that spring.

The vehicle sat, through most of the pandemic, with only a pair of 2021 family visits to and from Portland, Oregon. That winter arrangements were made for the sideswiped, left side repair, checking and tweaking at systems, at the REV group regional repair center outside Eugene. There, in addition, a steel plate was placed under the slider to prevent rollers digging into the wooden floor, as in current production units.

In January 2022, from our driveway, its catalytic converter was stolen! No California DMV accepted replacement was available as it waited EIGHT MONTHS . When the supply chain produced the RV went back into closed storage for security.
